Father-son tensions flare when a disagreeable dad decides to move in with his son and his son's fiancée right before their wedding. But that's nothing compared to the fight that erupts between the unwelcome guest and his soon-to-be daughter-in-law.

My thoughts:

Pretty funny movie, alot of very outrageous jokes! However the plot twist at the end was very disturbing!

My Gram....

Today is the 12th anniversary of my Gram's passing. My Gram was truly my best friend! She volunteered to watch my daughter when I was a Senior so I could finish school. She had to miss my wedding because she was in the hospital. She was sad, but made my Pap go so he could tell her all about it. When I went to get my wedding pictures, she called me and said to bring them over to her house first because she wanted to see what all she had missed.

I've been told tons of stories of my Gram, like when I was a baby and couldn't say Grandma, she told me I could call her whatever I wanted & I called her a b*tch. As a shy child, I would hide under the bed during birthday parties, so my Gram came and they couldn't get me out from under the bed. She came in and asked me to come out & I didn't want to, so she laid on the floor talking to me until I came out. When I came out, she let me sit on her lap the whole time. :)

That was my Gram, always an amazing woman, always caring and taking care of her family.

I miss her lots, love you Gram!! January 23rd, 1939 to November 16th, 2001

Great movie!! I didn't expect the ending, not at all!! I really enjoyed how this boy was made to grow into the lifestyle and made him scrapbook all the killings. Pretty good thriller movie!!

Movie Review: P.S. I Love You

P.S. I Love You
4/5

Here's what NETFLIX says about it:

2007PG-13127 minutes
When she loses her beloved husband, Gerry, to a brain tumor, grieving widow Holly Kennedy learns that he left a series of letters behind to help her cope with the pain of living without him.

My thoughts:

Very sweet movie! I loved how much he did for her to help her move on after he passed. He really went to a lot of effort and time and he really meant his love for her! Made me smile although I don't think there are any men out here who could live up to this expectation!!

PRODUCT REVIEW: Purex UltraPacks Plus Oxi with Giveaway

Recently I was chosen to try new Purex UltraPacks with Oxi. I received my package from Purex Insiders & the above is what was inside.

I received a sample to try myself, so here's my review:

Purex UltraPacks with Oxi smell amazing! I loved the scent even after it had been washed, it still smelled amazing! I really like the fresh, clean scent. As for the condition of the clothes, the Purex UltraPacks with Oxi really seemed to get stains out. Just a few things I used them on: ketchup on a two year old's shirt, grease on my husband's work clothes & my son's football practice gear. Not only did it get some of the hard stains out, but it made them smell good too.

Now, Purex UltraPacks with Oxi didn't become my fast favorite & there were stubborn grass stains it did not remove.

You want a chance to see how well it works yourself? Thanks to Purex Insiders, I have 3 coupons to give away:

MOVIE REVIEW: Dangerous Child

Dangerous Child (2001) Poster
Dangerous Child ~ 3/5

Here's what www.netflix.com says:

2001 NR 91 minutes
Divorced mother Sally Chapman repeatedly covers for her son's outbursts and disturbing acts of violence, but is unknowingly setting herself up as the abuser. It's not until she witnesses the hate in her son's eyes and the fury of his punches that she begins to fear for her life. Petrified by his unpredictable rages, Sally desperately seeks help but ends up in jail. Will she finally reveal the truth about her son and keep him from harming others?

My thoughts:

Not a bad movie, not one I would watch twice though. Good story, just felt it was a little over played.

Purex Fels-Naptha Product Review & Giveaway

I received a package from Purex Insiders, containing information on the Purex Fels-Naptha laundry bar & stain remover. I had never heard of this product before and was a little unsure of how dependable it would be.

The package itself is nice, easy to open. My only problem with it was that once you open it, it's hard to continue storing it in the original packaging. I actually opened mine completely & stored in a ziplock baggie.

Opening the product itself:

The product itself resembles a bar of soap. Not like regular every day soap, but the fancy holiday soap or hotel soap that kinda chips and falls apart. It's appearance means nothing tho!! Keep reading!!

Stain, Before:

This shirt had a stain from salad dressing, not just any salad dressing, oil filled italian dressing. It sat on the shirt, untreated for 1 week waiting for the product to arrive so I could test it.

Pre-Treating:

The instructions for the product say to wet the area the stain is in, rub the bar on the stain and let sit for 1 minute prior to washing. For the review, I decided to stick to exact directions & set the timer for 1 minute. I used Purex with Oxy as the detergent.

Due to the type of material (a silky fabric with ribbon around the edge), I had to hang dry this shirt. After about 16 hours, I checked the shirt.

Final Results:

The results are in:

Purex Fels-Naptha is amazing!! It really worked, took the stain right out of the fabric!! I love this product, I feel like it will protect many of my clothes for years to come!! This has become my new go to product!! I have since used it on my jeans, t-shirts, my son's football uniform. I highly recommend this!!

BONUS FOOTAGE:

Well, I had a moment & I forgot to snap a before photo of another stain on the shirt. Mind you, the shirt had been washed & dryed multiple times with the stain there.

Here is are the results of the OLD STAIN test:

The red, pizza sauce stain is completely gone!! I Love this!!

Now, are you ready to try it out yourself?

In addition to give me a sample to review, Purex Insiders has been generous enough to give me (3) coupons for the Purex Fels-Naptha to give away to 3 of my readers!!

MOVIE REVIEW: G.I. Joe Retaliation

G.I. Joe: Retaliation
5/5

Here's what www.netflix.com says:

2013PG-13110 minutes
In this action-packed sequel to G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, the elite anti-terrorist team finds itself ambushed and framed for treason by global mercenary Zartan. Driven into hiding, the warriors devise a desperate plan to defeat Zartan's forces.

My thoughts:
Alot of action packed scenes, the Rock really went bad a$$ in this movie!! I was a little disappointed that Channing Tatum's character was killed off, but overall, this movie was AWESOME!!

Soft Scrub Mold & Mildew Stain Remover Gel Review & Giveaway

I received a package from Purex Insiders featuring the new Soft Scrub Mold & Mildew Stain Remover Gel product. Also included were coupons to give away right here!! More on that later...

Here's what my package looked like:

I first tried this product on our upstairs shower. Due to insufficiant venting, the bathroom stays damp and the bottom of the shower becomes moldy. My husband cleans the shower, so I gave him the product to try out.

His review:

This product is alright, it's a new way to do the same thing. It doesn't seem much different, just a different look. For the most part, you can not tell that the product is a gel. It seems to come out liquid or foamy. It does work well though.

Are you a Bride to Be? Know one? I found the perfect site to order your bachelorette party or Bridal Shower necessities: The House of Bachelorette!!

I was asked to review a product, the Super Glam Rhinestone Bride to Be Sash. First, I received the sash, wrapped up and stuffed into a neat little satchel, that ties at the top. The packaging was cute, a perfect way to either present it to the bride or give as a gift.

The front of the satchel shows the B from Bride, sparkly & shiny with it's little rhinestones. The back includes a little card.
The card includes:
A Thank you, including a note that the item was carefully made by Rhinestone Sash.
It also includes Care Tips (keep reading for details) & on the back side, a discount code off your next $20 or more purchase & a list of other sashes they also have.

Upon taking the sash out of its' satchel, I inspected it closer:

Very pretty, stands out and is available in 6 colors.
(Black, Red, Silver, White, Purple or Pink)
The rhinestones are very pretty and detailed, causing a concern for care.

The card details these care instructions:
Cleaning - Spot Clean Only

Seems pretty easy to me!! (Best part)

Here are a few more close-ups of the sash details:

MOVIE REVIEW: Oz The Great and Powerful

Oz The Great and Powerful
5/5

Here's what www.netflix.com says:

2013PG130 minutes
In this Wizard of Oz prequel, circus magician Oscar Diggs is magically transported to the Land of Oz, where he deals with three witches and uses his illusionist skills and resourcefulness to become the wizard the residents have been hoping for.
Cast:
James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams, Zach Braff, Bill Cobbs, Joey King, Tony Cox, Abigail Spencer, Martin Klebba, Bruce Campbell
Director:
Sam Raimi
Genres:
Children & Family, Family Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Family Adventures, Book Characters, Ages 8-10, Ages 11-12, Blu-ray

My thoughts:

What a great back story!!! I had heard of the movie, but hadn't seen many previews. I knew Mila Kunis was one of the characters, but I had NO CLUE she would turn into the Wicked Witch of the West!! She played the villan perfectly! It was a really good movie, the kids really enjoyed it. Our viewing included 2 year old twins, a 12 year old, 15 year old & 4 adults. One of the twins was so entranced with it, he barely took his eyes off the tv.
Recommended for everyone! There are a few spots that could possibly scare small children, but overall it's a great story and really explains how everything in the Wizard of Oz came to be!

MOVIE REVIEW: Rumble Fish

Rumble Fish
Rumble Fish ~ 1/5

Here is the description from www.netflix.com:
1983 R 94 minutes
In Francis Ford Coppola's black-and-white adaptation of the S.E. Hinton novel, Rusty James (Matt Dillon) is the leader of a small, dying gang once led by his now-absent brother, Motorcycle Boy (Mickey Rourke). When Rusty is injured in a gang fight, his brother returns to their sad, industrial town to help. Despite this, Rusty continues on his path of self-destruction, damaging his relationships with his girlfriend (Diane Lane) and friends.

My thoughts:
I expected more from an SE Hinton novel, this movie didn't keep my interest. I attempted twice to watch it, but both times I fell asleep. Not enough interest to get me hooked I guess.

MOVIE REVIEW: Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son about his Father

Dear Zachary
4/5

Here's what www.netflix.com says:

2008 NR 93 minutes
Filmmaker Kurt Kuenne's poignant tribute to his murdered childhood friend, Andrew Bagby, tells the story of a child custody battle between the baby's grieving grandparents and Shirley Turner, Bagby's pregnant ex-girlfriend and suspected killer. Initially, Kuenne made this documentary as a memorial for Andrew's loved ones, but it morphs into an emotional legal odyssey when Turner goes free on bail and is allowed to raise her son.
Cast:
Genre:

My thoughts:

What an amazing documentary. It started as a documentary telling this little boy about his father, his life and his untimely death caused by the boys mother. It goes on to change when the mother does the unthinkable, it becomes a documentary about the lives of the entire family & the grandparents fight for better laws. Great to learn more about this crime & about the family that went through the tragedy.

Soft Scrub Total All Purpose Bath & Kitchen Cleanser Review & Giveaway!!!

As a Purex Insider, I get to try all sorts of products!! I recently was chosen to try out the Soft Scrub Total All Purpose Cleanser in Lemon scent.

I first decided to use it to scrub up my washer & dryer. They'd been out of commision for about 6 months before we were able to get them reconnected in the right spot. We finally did, and they had really gotten dirty. They had been brand new, only about 4 months old when we'd stopped using them!

The Soft Scrub Total All Purpose Cleanser Lemon Scent was amazing!! It smelled so fresh and citrusy. I prefer it to bleach cleansers now!

Needless to say, the washer & dryer are now SHINING!! The cleanser worked well with a scrub pad and shined them right up!

My daughter even used it today to scrub out the containers we use to store summer toys in winter and it scrubbed them up and took the odor they had away!!

Purex Insider's was kind enough to pick me to try out a bottle of the product, however all opinion here are strictly my own!!

The Christian Parenting Handbook Review

Are you a Christian parent struggling with how to raise your children to be more Christ-like? The Christian Parenting Handbook provides real life help for everyday struggles. This book provides strategies for parents to deal with all stages of your child's life.

The chapter titled: Consistancy is Overrated, touched me right off the bat. As a mom who's also busy with church work, a full time job, only 1 day off a week, some days I can not stick to a schedule. If God threatened to throw me in the Lion's Den with Daniel or flood the Earth and I couldn't get on the Ark with Noah, I would still not be able to stick to a solid set of rules or a schedule. Mind you, we do have rules, we do have a schedule, however if we decide to break from eating at the table and eat pizza in front of the tv once in a while, it's okay. God's okay with it and we should be too. Too much schedule, too much consistancy can sometimes overwhelm us all.
Chapter 7, Envision a Poisitive Future, showed me that we must help our children see a brighter future. Praise them, share God with them, help them to be motivated and they can create their own positive future.
In Chapter 3, we learn about consequences. Sometimes a child doesn't know what to do, just because you've told them to do something, doesn't mean they know how to do it. Before punishing your child, think of the consequences. Take a moment to show them how to do it correctly. Chapter 27 talks about disciplining each child seperately, not all children as a group. Punishments do not always need to be the same. Punish them seperately, individually. What a different way to think about that!

Finally, in reading this book, I learned so many helpful, handy tips on how to parent my children. Making meal times into something more, creating better relationships, helping our children, not hindering them.

My thoughts:

I am a huge Julia Roberts fan! I love watching her movies, she captured my heart in Steel Magnolias. This time period, she must have done alot of similar character roles. She does this one just as well as the others though. I really enjoyed it. It made me smile :)
