MOVIE REVIEW: Angels Fall

Angels Fall
Angels Fall ~ 4/5

Here's what www.netflix.com says:

Angels Fall

2007NR95 minutes
After escaping a horrific tragedy, Boston chef Reece Gilmore (Heather Locklear) wants to start a new life, so when her car breaks down in a small Wyoming town, she decides to stay put. But she soon witnesses a mysterious murder, and the locals doubt her story. As she begins to wonder if her accumulated traumas are driving her crazy, Reece turns to writer Brody (Johnathon Schaech) for support. This dynamic thriller is based on Nora Roberts's novel.
Cast:
Gary Hudson, Heather Locklear, Lisa Marie Caruk, Johnathon Schaech, Len Crowther, Derek Hamilton, Pete Seadon, Shannon Tuer

My thoughts:

Pretty good movie, the thrill & suspense was just what I needed when I watched this. Heather Locklear is convincing as the victim, she really played this roll well. Although, a bit predictable, I knew who the killer was part way in!!

BOOK REVIEW: Driven to Murder

Driven To Murder
Driven to Murder ~ 4/5

Here's what www.amazon.com says:

January 1, 2008
TV journalist Sam Donaldson hired Paul Posey as the new manager for his sprawling New Mexico ranch. Paul and his family settled into their new life. Then, in July 2004 Donaldson was stunned to discover that his ranch had become a blood soaked crime scene. The bullet-ripped bodies of Paul, his wife, and stepdaughter were found buries in a pile of manure. Paul's fourteen year old son Cody was soon in custody. But the shocking revelations had only just begun...The Posey's appeared to be like any other ordinary American family. But did their carefully constructed veneer hide a dysfunctional family with dark secrets? Cody claimed he had suffered years of relentless physical and psychological abuse at the hands of relentless physical and psychological abuse at the hands of his father, step-mother, and his step-sister...Witnesses at the trial included Sam Donaldson, as well as neighbours who supported Cody's claims and others who disputed them. Was Cody a cold blooded killer - or separate the lies from the truth - and decide a teenager's fate...

My thoughts:

A good book, with alot of information about the crime. It's a sad world where kids kill their family, people kill other people, children die in such terrible tragedy. I don't know the truth, you don't know the truth, this book opened my mind to that. God knows, He always knows & he will deal with us when that time comes. This book was very interesting, it showed two different sides to this family. Recommended if you like true crime!

BOOK REVIEW: BLOOD BATH

Blood Bath
Blood Bath ~ 4/5

Here's what www.amazon.com says:

They Knew He Was Out There
He took his time. He watched his victims and chose carefully. Then he struck--each attack more brutal than the last. By the time detectives arrived, all they found were gruesome crime scenes of bloodied, brutalized bodies. . .
They Knew He Would Strike Again

For more than ten years in South Louisiana the killings went on. Task forces were formed. The killer even spent time in jail. But that wouldn't stop the bloodshed. One victim was stabbed with a screwdriver 83 times. . .
But They Couldn't Stop Him--Until Was Too Late

He was a father. A husband. A co-worker. And a killer. Derrick Todd Lee was ultimately convicted of two savage murders and tied to at least seven more. From the slender trace of DNA that finally nabbed him to the courageous prosecutors who took him down in court, this is the shocking story of a homicidal maniac hiding in plain sight--and an evil that could never be washed away. . .
Includes 16 pages of shocking photographs

Here are my thoughts:

I enjoyed the book overall, it shared alot of detail & crime information. It opened my eyes to how some people can be. It really showed how crimes are linked and how things changed over years. I liked that it offered information and links to other crimes he committed. I enjoy the extra chapter outlining just what he'd done.

PRODUCT REVIEW: Soft Scrub Total With GIVEAWAY!!

Hello friends, I was asked to try a pretty wonderful product a few weeks ago, Soft Scrub Total! Purex Insider's sent me a package with one bottle of Soft Scrub Total All Purpose Cleaner with Bleach & Soft Scrub Total Bath & Bowl. Each product comes in a spary bottle that allows you to change the nozzle from spritz to foam spray. Love that feature!!

First we tried the Total Bath & Bowl. Our house is a home day care, I run it, averaging 6-10 kids per day. So, you know even with two toilets, it's hard to keep it clean! I waited until I was ready for bed and I sprayed the toilet down. My husband works an hour from home, so he cleaned it when he got home. His first reaction was "WOW! That was easy!" My first reaction the next morning was "Amazing! It's SOOOOOOOOOOOOO clean!"
We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new Soft Scrub Total Bath & Bowl!

Next, we tried the Soft Scrub Total All Purpose Cleaner with Bleach on a spot of mold on the refridgerator. Then we used it on the floor where something had been spilled. The All Purpose Cleaner with Bleach worked workers!
We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it too!!

Now that I've tried it, I want to help YOU try it!!

I have three coupons that I'd love to give to three lucky readers!!

First, comment on this post, tell me what you USUALLY use to clean your bathroom!
Next, Tell your friends, for every friend that comments, you'll get 1 extra entry!!
Finally, Wait til November 25th to find out the winners!!

BOOK REVIEW: Stolen Life

A Stolen Life: A Memoir
Stolen Life ~ 5/5

Here's what www.amazon.com says:

Book Description

Release Date: July 12, 2011

When Jaycee Dugard was eleven years old, she was abducted from a school bus stop within sight of her home in South Lake Tahoe, California. She was missing for more than eighteen years, held captive by Phillip Craig and Nancy Garrido, and gave birth to two daughters during her imprisonment. On August 26, 2009, Garrido showed up for a meeting with his parole officer; he brought Jaycee, her daughters, and his wife Nancy with him. Their unusual behavior raised suspicions and an investigation revealed the tent behind the Garridos’ home where Jaycee had been living for nearly two decades.

A Stolen Life was written by Jaycee herself and covers the period from the time of her abduction in 1991 up until the present. In her stark, compelling narrative, she opens up about what she experienced—and offers an extraordinary account of courage and resilience.

My thoughts:

I was saddened by the ordeal Jaycee had to go through. Her captors holding her so long she began to feel safe only with them, depend upon them & want them. How sick of a person does that to a child? I pray that Jaycee can one day live a wonderful, full life & be as carefree as she was the day he stole her life! I hope he's rotting in prison & never sees sunlight again! How horrid!! I pray she & her little girls can live a good life & people give them their privacy.

MOVIE REVIEW: Dolls

Dolls ~ 3/5

Here's what www.netflix.com says:

A charming doll collection turns into an unstoppable army of killers in this terrifying tale. When circumstances force a nervous salesman, two pathetic punkers, an obnoxious couple and their daughter to stay with an elderly couple who make and collect dolls, everything seems fine at first. But come nightfall, the dolls decide to get rid of their new houseguests…permanently. Stephen Lee, Guy Rolfe, Hilary Mason and Ian Patrick Williams star.

My thoughts:

This movie was 80's all over!! Not only was it creepy, but you could tell the special effects weren't digital. The movie made little sense & was kinda odd. We watched it all the way through though, it is worth a shot if you like old 80's horror flicks.

BOOK REVIEW: Where Are The Children?

Where Are the Children?
Where are the Children? ~ 5/5

Here's what www.amazon.com says:

Book Description

Release Date: June 28, 2005

Nancy Harmon long ago fled the heartbreak of her first marriage, the macabre deaths of her two little children, and the shocking charges against her. She changed her name, dyed her hair, and left California for the windswept peace of Cape Cod. Now remarried, she has two more beloved children, and the terrible pain has begun to heal -- until the morning when she looks in the backyard for her little boy and girl and finds only one red mitten. She knows that the nightmare is beginning again....

My thoughts:

What a wonderful book! I really like Mary Higgins Clark's work. She keeps you guessing & you have to keep looking for the right version. Sometimes you think you've guessed it, then she throws in a new loop. Especially who's the real killer isn't really even in the story! I would read any of her work!!

TV REVIEW: Skins (US)

Skins (U.S.) ~ 3/5

Here's what www.netflix.com says:

  2011 TV-MA 10 episodes

Adapted from a British series of the same name, this provocative teen drama depicts the complicated lives of a mixed group of Baltimore high schoolers with frank language, frequent drug use and partial nudity.

My thoughts:   First of all, I know the actors/actresses were underage, but what they did was nothing outside of what really goes on some places. It's the same as Teen Mom, 16 & Pregnant, Jersey Shore, Bad Girls Club, etc.... The only thing different is this show is FAKE, it's a STORYLINE!! I didn't think it was anywhere as bad as the reality junk that's on tv today!

MOVIE REVIEW: Bad Teacher

Bad Teacher
Bad Teacher ~ 5/5

Here's what www.netflix.com says:

 2011 UR 92 minutes

Cameron Diaz stars as Elizabeth Halsey, a scheming and coarse-tongued middle school teacher who gets dumped by her wealthy boyfriend and rebounds by sinking her claws into a handsome substitute teacher (Justin Timberlake).

My thoughts:   Funny movie!! I thought they had some good funny stuff in there & I also thought it was a clever storyline. Cameron Diaz played the bad girl perfectly! Justin Timberlake was hilarious as the nerdy substitute! We would watch this again!

BOOK REVIEW: Relentless Pursuit

Relentless Pursuit (Harlequin Desire)
Relentless Pursuit ~ 4/5

Here's what www.amazon.com says:
Book Description

Publication Date: May 1, 2012
Series: Harlequin Desire (Book 2159)

A cool million to help a withdrawn child in time for kindergarten? Widowed teacher Ava Barton is touched that the girl's guardian, Texas billionaire Will Delaney, cares so deeply. But the job includes moving into Will's mansion for the summer. And suddenly, Ava is working nights and weekends trying—unsuccessfully—to resist the gorgeous tycoon down the hall. Will wants her in his bed for June, July and August. But come fall, he'll move on. Unless she can teach him a thing or two about opening his guarded heart to love.
My thoughts:

Good book, it only took me a few days to read. It was very sweet & showed how the love of a child changes peoples lives. This five year old little girl helps a widow heal & helps her uncle to learn that love isn't something based on what happens to others, but what is in your own heart. Great story, although a key plot point was focused on & led up to then the results left you hanging with no hope of more.

Thanks to www.eharliquin.com for allowing me to review this book.

MOVIE REVIEW: Hunger

Hunger
Hunger 4/5
Here's what www.netflix.com says:
2009 R 102 minutes

Five strangers awake in an underground dungeon and discover that they've been kidnapped as part of a terrible experiment. A sadistic scientist wants to answer a simple question: What are they willing to do to survive after weeks without food? As the days go by and their hunger becomes unbearable, the captives struggle to retain their humanity. Lori Heuring, Joe Egender and Lea Kohl star in this dark examination of mankind's lowest instincts.

My thoughts:
Good movie, not a storyline you see everyday either. It was sort like Saw, only no escape, only continuing to live on. It was however pretty creepy to see what some of them did.

MOVIE REVIEW: Tucker & Dale vs Evil

Tucker & Dale vs Evil ~ 4/5

Here's what www.netflix.com says:

2010 R 86 minutes

Expecting to enjoy a relaxing vacation at their rundown mountain cabin, backwoods boys Tucker and Dale see their peaceful trip turn into a nightmare when college kids camping nearby accuse the duo of being psychotic killers.

Here are my thoughts:

Not a bad movie, although some points were pretty dumb. It was more comedy/horror than just horror. Although, people die & you see alot of blood too. Worth it for horror & comedy fans!

MOVIE REVIEW: Ping Pong Playa

Ping Pong Playa ~ 1/5

Here's what www.netflix.com says:

Ping Pong Playa 2007 PG-13 96 minutes

When a car accident sidelines his mother and brother, tough-talking slacker C-Dub (Jimmy Tsai) shelves his pipe dream of becoming an NBA star to run the family's ping-pong supply and coaching business.

Here are my thoughts:

My husband & I took this movie with us on a camping trip to watch before we went to bed. This movie seemed to put us to bed! The storyline was boring, no real plot points & it didn't have anywhere it was going with the story.

BOOK REVIEW: A Tangled Affair

A Tangled Affair (Harlequin Desire)
A Tangled Affair ~ 4/5

Here's what www.goodreads.com says:

They'd been embroiled in a hot, secret affair. Until Lucas Atraeus's and Carla Ambrosi's feuding families were merged by marriage and business. Suddenly the situation was complicated. Burned by the past, Lucas has never let his heart rule his head. Now, with Carla closer than he had ever imagined she would be, their affair must end.

Saying goodbye to such intense passion is not easy, as he's now Carla's boss.

But even as he sets out to choose an appropriate bride—one who won't break down his guard—Lucas fears he's fighting a losing battle. Sometimes temptation is meant to be seized.
My thoughts:

Good book, quick & easy read. I read it within 2 days. Good storyline, although I don't understand why the storyline was explained at the end rather than through the book. Worth the time it takes to read.

BOOK REVIEW: Stop Dressing Your 6 Year Old Like a Skank!

Stop Dressing Your Six-Year-Old Like a Skank: And Other Words of Delicate Southern Wisdom
5/5

Here's what www.amazon.com says:

Celia Rivenbark's essays about life in today's South are like caramel popcorn---sweet, salty, and utterly irresistible

Celia Rivenbark is a master at summing up the South in all its glorious excesses and contradictions. In this collection of screamingly funny essays, you'll discover:

* How to get your kid into a character breakfast at Disneyworld (or run the risk of eating chicken out of a bucket with Sneezy)

* Secrets of Celebrity Moms (don't hate them because they're beautiful when there are so many other reasons to hate them)

* EBay addiction and why "It ain't worth having if it ain't on eBay" (Whoa! Is that Willie Nelson's face in your grits?)

* Why today's children's clothes make six-year-olds look like Vegas showgirls with an abundance of anger issues

* And so much more!

Rivenbark is an intrepid explorer and acid commentator on the land south of the Mason-Dixon line.
My thoughts:

Great book!! I didn't want to put it down! Her humor & grace in all situations are hilarious!! Can't wait to read other books she's written!!

MOVIE REVIEW: The New Daughter

The New Daughter ~ 3/5

2009 PG-13 107 minutes

Luis Berdejo directs this supernatural thriller centered on John James (Kevin Costner), who moves to the country to get a new start -- only to be confronted by a new nightmare when his daughter, Louisa (Ivana Baquero), begins acting stranger by the minute. With unsettling events besetting the South Carolina home, John begins to believe that something on the edge of the forest nearby might have the answers he needs.

My thoughts:

I personally thought it wasn't a bad movie. The daughter was very believable and did the part justice. Very good, worth a shot!

MOVIE REVIEW: Mask Maker

Mask Maker ~ 3/5
2010R1hr 29m
There's a reason the 19th-century plantation house Evan Reynolds (Stephen Colletti) bought for his fiancée came cheap. Too bad neither he nor his bride-to-be discover it until their friends -- whom they've invited to the manse to celebrate -- begin to drop dead. Too late for their pals, but perhaps in time to save themselves, the couple learns that past residents are still hanging around in this horror fest co-starring Treat Williams.

My thoughts:

Not a bad thrasher, horror movie. It was actually pretty good, people died, lots of blood. I just felt like it was the same type of storyline as every other thrasher movie ever!

Here's my thoughts:

First off, this movie was just as hilarious & sexual as the first. If you liked the other movies in this series, you'll love this one! Everyone met up with someone from their past, maybe good or maybe bad. The storyline was what was to be expected from this franchise!

BOOK REVIEW: Broken Doll

Broken Doll
Broken Doll ~ 4/5

Here's what http://www.amazon.com/ says:
Publication Date: May 1, 2004

In May, 1988, in Everett, Washington, four-year-old Feather Rahier disappeared while playing outside after dinner. Her frantic cries drew Feather's mother to the dark garage that was home to Richard Matthew Clark. Clark had stolen the child, bound and gagged her, and begun to undress her. Only at the last instant was the little girl saved by her mother's desperate intervention. The next victim wouldn't be so fortunate. On the night of March 31, 1995, Roxanne Doll, 7, was abducted from the bedroom she shared with her younger sister. It was not until the following day that her mother discovered Roxanne's disappearance. A week later, Roxanne's raped and stabbed body was found. Evidence led investigators to a man the family had trusted as a friend: Richard Clark.Clark was a petty criminal, jailbird, alcohol and drug abuser who couldn't control his paedophilic and homicidal urges. In April, 1997, after his conviction for aggravated murder, he mocked and derided the dead girl's parents in a shocking courtroom display. Here is the brutal, heartbreaking true story of the crimes and punishment of a monster who preyed on the most vulnerable victims of all - and of the determined prosecutor who swore to bring him to justice.

My thoughts:
For the most part, the book was a great true crime novel. It shared all the personal and sad details of the crime commited. The photos were a nice touch too, it's easier to relate to the victims when you can see their life outside the crime. I really enjoyed this look into the legal system, that is until the end part. I didn't care much for the description of the legalities of the court process. It actually lost my attention a few times. Overall, a good book and a great read for true crime enthusiasts.

MOVIE REVIEW: The Stranger

When amnesia robs a man of everything -- including his own identity -- he's confounded after discovering that he's wanted by the feds and Russian gangsters. But he's not willing to succumb to the present until he reclaims his forgotten past.

My thoughts:
First off, I am a huge fan of Stone Cold Steve Austin. The movie was pretty good, a really good storyline. We did have some trouble following it though. However, it turned out to explain itself at the end & actually made sense. I would recommend watching it.

I received a package from Purex Insider a couple weeks ago. I forgot I had been chosen for the Dry Idea campaign, so it was quite a surprise!!
I opened up my kit, finding inside, a sample of the Dry Idea Advanced Dry women's deodorant product. I immediately began to use the sample product.

In West Virginia, it's been super hot!! The last few days has been extremely hot & muggy. The Dry Idea product I've been using has been a blessing to me! It's scent is free, but not over powering. It's been a breeze to just roll on & then go.

My only complaint for this product was that if you're not careful, it can leave white marks on your skin and your clothing. So, if you choose to try this product (which I think you should), I wouldn't wear it with black or dark colors.

Now, for the giveaway: I have coupons to give away!! Comment on this post. Tell me what brand deodorant you prefer and why. You'll receive 1 entry for your comment. You may earn extra entries by telling your friends to use your name when they post their own entry. No limit to the amount of friends you refer!!

BOOK REVIEW: Dead Before Dark

Dead Before Dark
Dead Before Dark ~ 5/5

Here's what http://www.amazon.com/ says:
When The Sun Goes Down...The Night Watchman is ready to kill - again. After thirty-five years in prison, he is free to commit the same twisted atrocities that once made him as notorious as the Zodiac Killer and Jack the Ripper. Now, at last, his moment has come...The Nightmare Begins...For renowned psychic Lucinda Sloan, fame is a double-edged sword. Through her television appearances, she helps police capture America's most elusive serial killers. Unfortunately, she also catches the eye of the Night Watchman. Once this madman learns that Lucinda 'sees' murders after they're committed, it's time to play...And The Fear Never Ends. The first victim is someone she knows - a personal shock that brings Lucinda closer to her ex-lover, Detective Randall Barakat. Then a second murder in Chicago, and a third in Denver, makes her realize that the Night Watchman is toying with her. Each victim wears a wristwatch...each watch bears a message...and each message is a warning for Lucinda that her time is up - and soon she'll be next to die...

My thoughts:

I really enjoyed this book, although it took me forever to finish!! I enjoyed not only seeing Lucinda's point of view, but watching the other characters play out their own parts. The detective who had been after The Night Watchman for years, the different girls the Night Watchman killed, even the different friends of Lucinda. There were many times throughout the story that I watched for someone, anyone to be the killer. I even had many ideas of who it truly was. This book threw me quite a few surprises!

MOVIE REVIEW: The Descendants

The Descendants
The Descendants ~ 5/5

Here's what http://www.netflix.com/ says:
2011 R 115 minutes

When a tragic boating accident leaves his wife on life support, an affluent land baron attempts to mend his relationship with his estranged daughters. But he's also trying to decide whether to let go of some valuable family real estate.

My thoughts:
First of all, who cheats on George Clooney with the guy who played Shaggy in the Scooby Doo movies??

Okay, to be serious: I thought this movie was more of a comedy/heartfelt movie. I was wrong, it had it's funny moments, it had heartfelt moment, but it was a good drama type movie to me. His wife is in a coma, he has to turn off life support via her wishes. When he gets his oldest daughter from another island and brings her home, he finds out that his daughter argued with his wife over an affair the wife was having. He then sets out with his children and his daughter's oddball friend to find the man and give him a chance to say goodbye. Good moments, really enjoyed it!!

MOVIE REVIEW: Captain America: The First Avenger

Captain America: The First Avenger
Captain America: The First Avenger ~ 5/5

Here's what http://www.netflix.com/ says:
2011 PG-13 125 minutes

In Marvel's superhero slugfest, Steve Rogers volunteers for a secret experiment during WWII after being deemed unfit for duty. Transformed into super solider Captain America, he takes on his Nazi-created counterpart, Red Skull, and the evil Hydra.

Here are my thoughts:
First off, we ended up watching this movie in two parts. It was over 2 hours long, we wanted the kids to watch it with us, especially my 11 year old, AND we didn't start it til 9:30.
My first thought before ever viewing the movie itself was that I wasn't going to like it. I am not a huge fan of Superheros, I haven't seen a Superhero movie since my son was 4 or 5.
After watching the first hour, I was intrigued. I wanted to see exactly what Captain America was doing. When he saved everyone from the camp he swooped into, I was proud of him!
Sitting down to watch the second half, I wa excited! Enjoyed this superhero movie!!

Publication Date: August 25, 2003

Notorious contract killer Ricky Lozada is on trial and Dr. Rennie Newton is on his jury. My thoughts:

Loved this book! It was suspenseful, it held twists and turns, it even had love in there too! Enjoyable book if you like drama stories!

My thoughts:
What a wonderful family movie!! It's such a cute, fun movie! It has funny parts and then it has such a romantic vibe too!! Love it!!

MOVIE REVIEW: Bridesmaids

Bridesmaids

Bridesmaids ~ 5/5

Here's what www.netflix.com says:

2011 R 125 minutes

Named her best friend's maid of honor, down-on-her-luck Annie's competition with a fellow bridesmaid, the wealthy and beautiful Helen, threatens to destroy the wedding. Meanwhile, a local cop takes a liking to Annie.

My thoughts:

Very raunchy, so if you don't like those types of movies, this won't be for you. It has pretty hilarious moments. There were even a few moments that Ihad to tell my husband to be quiet because I couldn't hear what they were saying over his laughter.

BOOK REVIEW: Probable Cause by Ridley Pearson

Probable Cause

Probable Cause by Ridley Pearson ~ 4/5

Here's what www.amazon.com says:

Shattered...by a mindless act of violence that changed his life forever, James Dewitt decided to become a cop.

Shackled...by a web of red tape and corruption, Dewitt now fights desperately to solve a string of murders cleverly staged to look like suicides.

Submerged...in the deranged world of the psychopathic mind, Dewitt struggles to outwit the killer-the man they call the "trapper"-before it's too late...and to use every fingerprint and every fiber-and every last ounce of his strength-to escape the ultimate evil.

--This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

My thoughts:

This book was really good, you could keep reading for hours!! Starts off with one tragedy an then links it to a killer who's now committing murder and making it look like suicide. It was interesting to see where the plot would take the book.

MOVIE REVIEW: Our Idiot Brother

Our Idiot Brother

Our Idiot Brother ~ 5/5

Here's what www.netflix.com says:

2011 R 89 minutes

Ned (Paul Rudd) is a seemingly clueless idealist who must rely upon his three exasperated sisters (Emily Mortimer, Elizabeth Banks and Zooey Deschanel) for shelter and support after he's dumped by his fed-up girlfriend (Kathryn Hahn) and loses custody of his beloved dog, Willie Nelson. As he wreaks havoc on his sisters' lives, Ned's earnestness shines through until his siblings realize that family ties take priority over wealth and position.

My thoughts:

First off, Our family is similar to theirs, there are 3 sisters, but instead of just 1 idiot brother, we have 2. I made the mistake of watching this movie when the brother I am closest to, was convicted of two crimes & remanded to jail. He's facing a 2-15 sentence, not based on evidence, but based on the word of a 2 time felon who got a lighter sentence & charges dropped for his testimony.

The movie itself was wonderful, it had alot of laugh out loud moments combined with heartfelt loving moments between a sister & her brother. I really enjoyed how fun he was with his nephew, which is exactly how my brother is with my son. I loved that he always did things to help them, even if they didn't turn out right for him. Only difference between my brother & our idiot brother, my brother would have signed that paper faster than anything if we'd come to bail him out of jail!!

MOVIE REVIEW: A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas

A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas

A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas ~ 5/5

Here's what www.netflix.com says:

2011 R 90 minutes

When Kumar burns down Harold's family Christmas tree on Christmas Eve, the stoner pals set out on a last-minute, pot-fueled quest through Manhattan to find a replacement tree, getting tangled up with mobsters and other shady characters along the way.

My thoughts:

Lives up to everything Harold & Kumar!! I look forward to more movies just like this, I can see the Harold & Kumar franchise expanding. It's not nearly as funny or out there are Cheech & Chong, however, they are a close second and my personal favorite!! Loved it, it was fun, adventurous & they had a happy ending too!!

BOOK REVIEW: The Wrong Hostage

The Wrong Hostage

The Wrong Hostage by Elizabeth Lowell ~ 5/5

Here's what www.amazon.com says:

The latest masterwork from one of the leading writers of suspense . . . New York Times bestselling author Elizabeth Lowell returns with a chilling tale of the law gone wrong and a kidnapping that threatens more than one life.

The Wrong Hostage

Orphaned at thirteen, Grace Silva clawed her way out of poverty and violence to become one of the most respected judges on the federal bench. Grace believes in the rule of law -- lives it, breathes it. She has always been buttoned up and buttoned down.

Except once.

My thoughts:

Really enjoyed this book, it was the right amount of suspense, action and love story all mixed in one. It was a believable storyline, with believable characters too. The mix of sacrifice with a lost cause, dealing with Mexican mafia and having to rely on her former lover, all those things made Grace the person you wanted to route for.

TV SHOW REVIEW: The Jeff Dunham Show

The Jeff Dunham Show

The Jeff Dunham Show ~ 5/5

Here's what www.netflix.com says:

The Jeff Dunham Show

2009 TV-14 Season 1

Ventriloquist Jeff Dunham is never alone on stage -- at least not when he opens his suitcase stuffed full of memorable puppet characters, including Walter, Peanut and Achmed the Terrorist, all of whom join him in this sketch comedy show.

My thoughts ~

Jeff Dunham is hilarious as always!! Brooke Hogan as a guest star was a nice touch for this wrestling fan :) Recommended if you like his comedy!

MOVIE REVIEW: Deadtime Stories Volume 2

Deadtime Stories: Volume 2

Deadtime Stories Volume 2 ~ 5/5

Here's what www.netflix.com says:

Deadtime Stories: Vol. 2)2011R101 minutes

Legendary horror movie auteur George A. Romero serves up three tales of horror, including the story of a professor who pays for his playboy ways, another featuring hikers trapped in a cave and the third about a man driven to murder to save his wife.

My thoughts:

The professor got what he deserved, he used a young girl, then broke her heart!

The hikers, that one was sick!! They get trapped & it results in the unthinkable!! YUCK!! I couldn't watch parts of that one it was so sick!!

The third story was just odd, not a fan of it!

Worth watching if you like gory movies or Tales from the Crypt type.
