WWE ~ Another Fabulous Show! Well worth the wait!!

Well, it's that time of year again, time for the WWE house show. My family & I attend every year, we start preparing months before show date by making plans & camping out for the best tickets we can get. Started this out a few years ago & each year we've learned earlier & earlier times are best to get the tickets we want :) This year, we started out the evening of April 30th around 8 pm, gathering blankets & warm clothes, MP3 players, magazines & books, game systems & writing material, cell phones & extra socks, stuffing as much as we can into backpacks so we don't have to haul a ton. Then we loaded into the van with my best friend Zuess & her kids R & G, then heading to the downtown area. Finding parking was difficult, only because we were camping out at the same time a carnival was in town. We head to get drinks & snacks, then pizza & finally by 9 pm we are at the campout site, spreading our blankets & getting settled in. After eating & gossiping & letting the kids checkout the carnival, we get settled in for the hard part. One thing is for sure, you can never have enough socks when you are sleeping on the ground in front of the civic center a block from the Ohio River lol. This particular night was the night for drama & fighting, my brother J who went with me til the husband was off work was a hero that night :) He actually chased off a group of young guys who were beating another guy with rocks. The guy had a busted head & was taken to the hospital. After the drama ceased, we got away with making another quick snack/drink run then back to get settled in for the night. Thankfully Zuess took all kids with her when she went home to get settled in for word that the night was over & tickets were in hand. Got little sleep, a man in a motor scooter was snoring, then had the nerve to say I was the one keeping everyone up!! Ugh!! The nerve!!! He irritated me ALOT tho!! He was one of those poeple who always know everything!! He tried to tell me that previous years he had to wait til AFTER the time to get tickets when the years he mentioned were years I was first in line & he wasn't even there!! After spending 9 hours sleeping on the ground, waiting for the place to open, we had our great seats in hand at 12:03. We had ringside, facing the steps and aisleway!!
Fast forward: June 26, 2010 ~ night before preparations, charging phones & cameras ~ I didn't remember to do!! However, got settled in on what to wear & what time to go. Official start time for us for the 2010 WWE event ~ 2:30 pm. We agree to leave to be there by 230. At 145 pm, we realize that I forgot to charge camera & we need to make a stop at the dollar store for markers & a notepad. Charge the camera for about 20 minutes & in between charge phones again & get my monster's hair spiked up, plus get myself dressed ~ Legacy shirt YEAH!!! :)
Arrive in parking destination, approx 2:20 after stopping to get autograph materials. Within moments of arriving, WWE Superstar R-Truth arrives does photos & autographs with fans ~ we got both :) Then we decided to make our way to the back side of arena to see wrestlers arrive without the equipment trailer in our way. We got to see many superstars arrive from this angle ~ The Miz, John Morrison, Maryse, Eve Torres, Ted Dibiase Jr, IRS, Edge, Alicia Fox, AJ Lee, William Regal & then the only other WWE Superstar who signed auto graphs: Evan Bourne ~ who knew he wore glasses? He did a great job with interacting with fans, he actually made faces trying to get Zuess's son Lil JC to smile ~ which didn't work lol. One bus pulled to the door & allowed none other than John Cena to quickly enter the arena without causing mass mayhem!! Approx 4 pm, another bus arrived, we assume holding the NXT rookies because no one got out. We waited in line about 15 minutes to get inside, all the while sweating to death but thankfully the arena had AC on!! Upon entering we hit the souvenier stand where my princess got a new John Cena shirt & my monster got 2 chains (John Cena & Bret Hart) & a Rey Mysterio figure. The hubby got himself a hat & shirt & bought me some John Morrison sunglasses. Zuess bought Lil JC a John Cena shirt, which he HATES by the way, the smallest they had was Youth M & he's clearly a Youth S & a John Cena necklace to match my monster. After spending tons on souveniers, we headed to our seats, got situated then I made a bathroom break while everyone else his concessions for some drinks. Upon returning, they showed off WWE cups ~ Just what Lil JC had wanted for months!!
The card for the night was:
Evan Bourne vs Zack Ryder (Bourne wins by pinfall)
William Regal vs Goldust (Goldust wins by pinfall)
AJ Lee arrives to pick a guest bell announcer.
Vladimir Kozlov vs Yoshi Tatsu (Kozlov wins by pinfall)
Ted Dibiase w/ Maryse vs John Morrison (Morrison wins by pinfall)
Edge arrives for a promo, takes over the ring & calls out Randy Orton saying he'll spear him tonight, prompting Orton to show up. After a showdown, Edge runs away like always!! Orton walks around, posing & showing off for the crowd.
AJ Lee returns to throw out shirts with Justin Roberts.
Upon returning, a United States Championship triple threat match begins & R-Truth begins his entrance, but is attacked by the Miz before making it to the ring. Mark Henry chases Miz to the ring & then tells him it's a one on one match for the title. (Miz wins via pinfall)
AJ Lee returns to deliver an e-mail from the secretive Raw GM ~ the main event has been changes due to Orton/Edge's actions. Now instead of Orton & Cena vs Sheamus & Edge, it's now John Cena vs Sheamus in a steel cage match for the WWE championship.
Divas Championship Match: Alicia Fox defends her title against Eve Torres w/ Santino Marella as the special guest referee (Alicia wins by pinfall)
Following the Divas match, it is announced that the crew will need patience waiting while they assemble the steel cage for the main event. During this time, Justin Roberts signed autographs & took photos with the kids in the area we were in. Both kids again got both an autograph & a photo.
Upon completion, the main event began:
WWE Championship Match: Sheamus vs John Cena ~ Most of the time, John Cena was being beat by Sheamus. He was able to stop Sheamus from escaping the cage via the cage door & over the top of the cage. Lil JC was too cute with his pouting because Cena was loosing & trying to catch Cena everytime he thought he was coming over the cage. Eventually, the NXT rookies arrived on scene & Sheamus ran while they attacked John Cena, locking the cage. Soon tho, Yoshi Tatsu arrived & climbed straight over the cage & in to help, followed by Evan Bourne who did an amazing jump off the top of the cage, soon after the entire Raw roster who wrestled & were still there (minus the Divas) arrived to help. They quickly took control. William Regal actually threw a rookie into the railing we were standing at, knocking us backward!! Once they cleared the place of the rookies, John Cena returned to the ROAR of his fans, making his way around the ring & hitting the hands of many fans!! Lil JC is the biggest John Cena fan & he enjoyed the show thouroughly, although he didn't like Cena's sweat on his hand!! He quickly wiped it on his mom lol
Inconclusion ~ Even though we ran a camera & 3 cell phones dead takin pics, Billy ALMOST had John Cena's hat & my camera died about 2 seconds before Orton came out, we had a blast! Can't wait til next year!!

Daddy Day Camp

Daddy Day Camp ~ 4/5
My kids & I waited FOREVER to see this movie, not for any reason other than our Netflix Queue is ALWAYS so full, we can't even remember what movies we have listed or what movies we want to see! I actually make lists for movies we see during previews so we can remember to add them once we view enough movies to add more to the queue. We are currently at the limit.
The movie starts off with cake to celebrate another successful year. Then the guys decide to get thier kids to summer camp. Upon arrival at the camp from thier childhood, they find out alot of things are changed, resulting in thier new ownership of the forclosing property. The neighboring camp has only gotten better since childhood & is now the popular place to be. For the conflict of the story, the neighboring camp is looking to expand onto thier property. The story has a good lesson about the bonds between a father & a son & how easy it is to estrange that relationship over something as trivial as the outcome of a game. It't a need to see for all those parents who scream at thier child/children when they drop the ball or hit a foul ball or get out before they get home. I enjoyed it, my kids enjoyed it, even my husband who fell asleep during Daddy Day Care enjoyed it. Great movie for the entire family!

MOVIE REVIEW: Simon Says

Simon Says

I was expecting another slasher Jason type movie where something terrible happens to the killer when he's a young kid, then he comes back time after time wrecking havoc & continuing to pile up the bodys. As I watched this movie, I realized, this was EXACTLY the same type of movie, only difference was, the killers horrible problem was that his brother was born mentally retarded & he didn't get attention. The movie portrays the havoc that attention deprevation could cause to siblings. I thought this movie was a little wierd, showing some slasher film traits, but in the end, ending just like all the rest: new young adults arrive & the killing starts all over. So, if the horror of the Jason type movies is what you want, expect exactly that!

RATING: 4/5 (if you like those Jason type movies)

What Fathers Mean..........

Today is Father's Day, to many of us that means we spend the day with family, we celebrate our dads & the dad figures in our lives (single moms, husbands/boyfriends, uncles, grandfathers, step fathers) those special men(or women) who help shape our lives.

Most of us are lucky to know our fathers, even tho some have lost thier fathers, myself included. We can always look back on the special memories we have, glance at photos & smile & think back to our special days & what our dads did. I remember my dad picking out a special dress for me to wear on my first day of Kindergarden:

Another special moment with my dad was when he walked me down the aisle to my wedding:

And danced with me during the reception:

My dad was a big part of my life, I wish everyone had a dad as wonderful as mine.......and those that do, I hope you realize it before it's too late. So on this 2010 Father's Day, I leave you with a fabulous quote, whoever wrote it was GENIUS!! ~

Any man can be a father, it takes a real man to be a daddy!

BOOK REVIEW: THE MEMORY OF WATER BY KAREN WHITE

THE MEMORY OF WATER BY KAREN WHITE

Great book, this was a swimming pool read for me, not because it was about water, but because I was looking for an interesting read while I hide from the sun at the pool. The book is about water, yet it's mainly about bipolar/manic depression. It shows how going back to where you begin can help heal old wounds & help you to grow stronger, how life's experiences & the cards you are dealt shape your life & create who you are. It's also a touching look at what you will do for "The person you love the most". For the characters in the book, it goes from them being sisters to the son/nephew they both love so much. I enjoyed this book, I would recommend it to anyone who has been through something tough or trying & are looking for the way to get past it. It's a look inside a taboo of family secrets, something most people can understand. What's your family secret? Who do you "love the most"? Reading this book made me think of what I would do for the ones I love the most & how everyone makes sacrifices some who sacrifice everything for the one they love most. RATING: 4/5
