Busy Weelend, Now I'm Mom to a TEENAGER!!

Let's see, I spent Wednesday & Thursday (July 27th & 28th) cleaning. Thursday we had moonlight swim, had a blast, water was GREAT!!

Friday, I had to bake my daughter's birthday cake, clean up & prepare for her party. Her cake turned out wonderful. We got her an Ipod Touch, she also got Squinkies, Littlest Pet Shop, 3 pair of flip flops, body sprays, lip glosses, nail polish, $25 & a ticket to see Tim McGraw on Saturday. She had a sleepover with 2 friends that night too. Her daddy & uncle missed her party because they went to a heavy metal concert.

Saturday, she helped clean up & hung out with her best friend/cousin. They are super close. We got to the concert about 6:45, it started at 7. Had a blast!! It was Tim McGraw, Luke Bryan & The Band Perry. She got a Tim McGraw bracelet. She went with me, her grandma, aunt & cousin. Didn't get home til 12:30am.

Sunday, we had church & lunch after. It went pretty good. Then we ended up taking a trip to the local park. We did mini golf, paddle boating & then met up with my best friend & her family for swimming & water slide. My hubby spent the day on the water slide. He's crazy!!

Today was a relaxing day, all minus my MIGRAINE :( My future SIL brought her boys over, then she took my niece & daughter birthday shopping. Her daughter's birthday was Sunday, she turned 1. My son & I entertained the boys with Barney, Spiderman & fake tatoos!! Had a blast!!

Now, I hope to blog more often, IF my life gets any slower!! Time to prepare for back to school & the last 3 weeks of summer vacation!

It's another hot one....

Got up early and my friend didn't even get ahold of me :( ~ Then, I relaxed all day, got an order in the mail & a prize I won!! Love getting packages I forget I'm expecting!!

Did a little cleaning of the kitchen & the living room floor. Dinner with my hubby & the kids, my nieces & nephew are over for the night. It's like a weekend for us. Monday til Wednesday!! :)

My godson is over for a little bit too, he missed me!! :)

Should have been a relaxing Sunday........

....but it wasn't, so what can you do?

Started out well, got up for church and got ready. Kids were up, ready and had already put the dog out before I made my way downstairs. Good job kids :)

Sunday school was wonderful at first. My brother & his girlfriend showed up, arguing as always. My brother ended up leaving, but not before he threatened to punch out her car window in front of everyone. Ugh, my dumb brother!!

After he left, it went back to being a good service. I had 7 children in my Sunday School class, ranging from 1-5. After that, church service, which also went well.

Came home to get lunch ready. I had taco meat & cheese w/ nachos. The kids had noodles, their faves!!

Cleaned out the fridge while they did chores. Day was still going pretty good. Made Kool-aid, checked e-mails, sent invites for surveys & stuff. Still going well.

Time to do dishes & start dinner. Starts off well, I get most of the dishes from cleaning out the fridge & lunch done. I realize the sink is leaking. There is water & noodles all over the floor under the sink. Top this off with my husband is working late. Scheduled til 5, doesn't get home til almost 8.

When he gets home, I tell him about sink issue. He says he'll fix it after dinner. I go to check dinner, which is hamburger helper. Have I told you yet that I can't make hamburger helper for my life? I burnt the bottom, fine, I'll get new pan & finish cooking. Yeah, hamburger helper hates me!! I go to get out milk to make cheesy sauce for on top, guess what.........my 10 year old drank the last of the milk & didn't tell me.

We don't drive, it's Sunday and no buses. So, we have NO MILK, can't finish dinner. So, I scraped what was good into a tupperware & they all have to make their own dinner. Tv dinners or leftovers. Me, I had a brownie. Yum!!

Fun, Free Stuff :) And, Great Bonding Time too!!

Today was Saturday, also a Lowe's Build and Grow Project Day. My 10 year old has enjoyed these for the past few years. It's a great Father/Son activity. Moms, push for your husbands/SO's to take them. If they don't have a father figure, take them!! It's also great bonding for an uncle or grandfather too.

Today they made BINOCULARS!! My husband's schedule changed, so he isn't able to take him anymore. So, for the past 2 projects, I have taken him. I think it's a wonderful idea! He LOVES it!! And, he's inspired to try other projects. He wants to build a bird house lol LOVE it!! Highly recommend these!

Another Hot Day!!

It's another hot day here! It began at 6:15 am for me, so sticky hot we had to sit on the porch for our morning start.

The kids are choosing different ways to cool off. My almost 13 year old spent the day in her room in front of the fan watching movies. My 10 year old on the other hand, spent his day cooling off at the local pool! Our $40 pool pass was a WONDERFUL investment!!

Tonight's Plans:
Catching up on America's Got Talent & WWE Smackdown @ 8!!

Oh yeah, yesterday's errands were a success! I even got a Christmas gift for my 10 year old!!

Changes & Plans ~ 7/21

Today, I have decided to try to be a better blogger. I try to post good things on here, but I never have time to post daily & sometimes I don't post for a while. Today, I change that :)

My plans for today are:

Errands ~
1. Appointment with Work Force
2. Dollar Store to pick up dog food & maxi pads
3. Goodwill, hope I get some great deals!!
4. Post office, 3 packages to mail!

Then tonight, my wonderful husband is taking our children swimming. Which means, I get a nice break :) Can't wait!!

My thoughts:

It was like Saw, but with a twist. The bad guy was around, he came in and spoke to them. I didn't think three people would be left when they figured it out. Melissa Joan Hart, she was WONDERFUL!! She was believable and she was a KILLER!! Not the one holding them captive, but still!! And the ending, it started by blowing me away. I was shocked, then when it ended, it was like, that was all?? How could it leave everything in suspense?

First off, the boy calls the guy at the beginning dad. So I don't get why they say brother? The movie was kinda boring, not very gripping or exciting. It was just ok.

Sort of creepy, it was a sad story that they could have prevented. They didn't, so this haunted them.

The storyline was sorta hard to follow. The murders at the beginning had NOTHING to do with the murders that occurred 20 years before. And there was a random man at the end that I never did figure out who he was? It was ok, but just random. Not a easy to follow storyline.

Good movie, like alot of slasher films. Same theme, same basic storyline, just different characters. It's good if you like these type movies, but if you don't like copies, you probably won't like it.

Another day, another life gone by :(

Reflecting tonight on my great-grandmother's passing. She lived to be 97 years old. She was born April 12th, 1914 & passed away last Friday, June 24th, 2011. She was a wonderful woman, as spoken about by her daughter & some of her granddaughters. The pastor from her church just talked about her in such a beautiful, positive way. I hope when I die that people say things like that about me.

We leave each day, but do we TRULY live? Do we enjoy ourselves & make memories with our family that are going to be remembered in 50 or 60 years? Even 30 or 40 years later? I sure hope that I am making these memories with mine.

A fun family movie! Yogi was a comedy that was loved by all ages at our house! We laughed about the pic-nik baskets!! And the turtle was pretty awesome, we have turtles for pets at our house!

First off, Selena Gomez is such a cute actress. I just think she is so adorable & she fits the parts she plays so well. Joey King is just super cute as Ramona! She's too funny & really gets into her part! I would watch this again, it's a great family movie!

My thoughts:

I absolutely LOVE Randy Orton! I am a huge fan of him & of wrestlers starring in movies! I especially like them in FIGHT movies!! I thought this movie was FABULOUS!! Not only does it have a good story, the plot of the movie is along the lines of what alot of kids deal with now. Bullying happens & people judge others. People are still in that mindset & this movie really taps into that. It has a good message! I was disappointed in Randy's part being so small & I also didn't think his character would be a "bad" guy. Even though that's the part he plays & he plays it WONDERFULLY!!

I'm a big time Stone Cold fan, so I absolutely LOVED it!! I thought the fight scenes were great, I love watching wrestlers in good fight movies!! Thought it was a good movie with a pretty good plot & storyline. I'd watch it again & I'm going to recommend it to my mom!

So MIA!!

I feel like I haven't gotten on my blog in FOREVER!! I've gotten so busy with school out, so it's summer vacation & we've been going to the pool & plus I've had friends around like crazy!

Today I was SUPER Me! I took 17 kids to the pool. Yes, 17!! I had one other adult with me & the kids range in age from 4-15. I was asked to take 4 more *all 3 and under* but I said NO THANK YOU!! I'm crazy, just not that crazy!!

And how exactly do you get sunburn when you sit in the shade all day, not even swimming at all! I didn't even wear a bathing suit!!

MOVIE REVIEW: Easy A

My thoughts:

It was ok, some humorous moments. Mostly focuses on the book Scarlett Letter & shows what would happen modern day with just rumors. It's ok.

It was your typical back hills slasher movie. The same kids running into the same problems because they took the back roads instead of the highway. However, I enjoy these type of movies & anyone who does would find it to be worth watching atleast once.

It was a pretty funny movie. My kids really liked it. We thought it was based on the cards & really cute for being an old 80's movie.

My thoughts:

I really learned alot about Pamela Anderson from this book. I didn't know she had posed for Playboy for so long. I also didn't know she was romantically involved with Scott Baio or Bret Michaels. She went through alot in her life & for her to finally have love & be able to live her life with no one telling her what to do is the best thing I could have read in that book!

Through Chana's memories, the girl is transported back to World War II, experiencing for herself the horrors suffered by Polish Jews just trying to survive, first in the Lodz ghetto, then in the concentration camp. While the subject matter is certainly compelling, this first novel is not as powerful as Jane Yolen's The Devil's Arithmetic (Viking, 1988) or as chilling as Jay Bennett's Skinhead (Watts, 1991). Nolan does a better job of portraying Chana than Hilary or her Bible-quoting mother, but Mrs. Burke's dysfunctional personality and Hilary's problems with her are clear. Interspersed are Biblical passages that are sometimes appropriate to the text, but often unnecessary and distracting. The ending is predictable and soppy: Chana dies leaving an album full of family photos to Hilary. My thoughts:

I was intrigued by this book. I enjoyed learning about the Nazi's and some of what they did to the Jews back then. Some of the things were horrible & terrible. I couldn't get my attention off that book. When I tried to put it down, I was so curious to know what happened next. I just had to pick it back up!!

My thoughts:

The movie started off with one gruesome killing spree, then skipped to another, then one last one. Then it took the time to piece it all together. I was confused so much through the beginning that the ending wasn't worth it.

I thought this movie was ok, didn't show me much into what he was really like as a murderer. I knew parts of his story from reading my dad's old crime magazines, so it didn't fit as much as I thought it should.

Love books like this!!

When she finds out he's getting divorced, she decides to give thier love a chance. Very good book!

Evil Weed 2009 NR 70 minutes Sisters Emily (Brianna Barnes) and Danielle (Genevieve Hudson-Price) invite friends to their parents' house in the Hamptons for a weekend, and everything's going well until the partiers smoke some tainted marijuana that turns the dream holiday into a nightmare in this gory horror flick. As some members of the group experience a violent reaction to the weed, the others find themselves in a horrific fight for their lives.

My thoughts:

This movie was nothing like what I thought it was going to be. I don't understand how smoking weed can turn you into a vicious monster who rips apart your friends. Not that interested in EVER watching it again!

My thoughts:

Starts off similar to every movie about something killing people that can only be explained by a scientist or the person who created it. It is an ok horror movie, it has the gore scenes. Now, a few scenes that disturbed me were the ones that started as a horror movie shot then changed to a scene from an old black & white horror movie. I hated how fake they looked!!

Loved this countdown, #1 completely deserves it all :) Was disappointed that Randy Orton was so far down on the list, #29 For real???

My thoughts:

First off, I have been a John Travolta fan since GREASE :) Love him to death!! I absolutely loved him in this movie too! He gets the job done & he's super good at it! I love the fight scenes where he just knocks people around!!

My thoughts:

It was ok, it reminded me of Tales from the Crypt alot! My favorite version was about the Monster. It's worth watching if you are a fan of TFTC.

It was a pretty good movie. Makes you really think about what you would do if something like this happens to your town, even your family. Would your husband face these things happening to him if you were taken away?
