Dead Mean Kill by L. Ron Hubbard
"A chilling story of gruesome murders and walking dead men....You can almost hear the 'kapows,' and 'blood-curdling screams."
Jackie Houchin, American Chronicle
When I was asked to review this book, I was excited. I love reading and mystery/thriller type books are one of my favorites!!
When I received my package, I was surprised to see they included a copy of the audio book also. I look forward to "rereading" this book when I have less time and can listen!
Opening the book and seeing that it was originally published in July 1934 issue of Thrilling Detective, I was a little unsure if I was going to be able to get into such an old story. I was born almost 50 years after it was originally published. I worried it would be from a time too distant, where I couldn't relate and would become bored or not give the book a chance.
When I opened the book, I was happy about the format they used. I enjoy the bigger writing and spaced out pages, where I can read quickly and breeze through the book. I seem to read faster when I feel I am actually getting somewhere with my book.
The story I read, one Detective Terry Lane is on the case! He has a handful of clues that lead to dead men awaking from their graves to return to kill their enemies. Detective Lane must figure out not only who's creating these dead men walking (aka zombies) and why, but he must also figure out who to trust. The mysterious stranger, a young woman who Lane can't decide if she's for or against him, appears time and again. Chasing after the Loup-Garou and facing near death experiences really give the detective a run for his money.

My FINAL Review: 5/5
