PRODUCT REVIEW: Purex Triple Action
BOOK REVIEW: Blonde Ambition
Here's what www.amazon.com says:
BOOK REVIEW: Die, My Love: A True Story of Revenge, Murder, and Two Texas Sisters
The day before Halloween 2004 was the last day on Earth for respected, well-liked college professor Fred Jablin. That morning, a neighbor discovered his body lying in a pool of blood in the driveway of Jablin's Virginia home. Police immediately turned their attentions to the victim's ex-wife, Piper, a petite, pretty Texas lawyer who had lost a bitter custody battle and would do anything to get her kids back. But Piper was in Houston, one thousand miles away, at the time of the slaying and couldn't possibly have been the killer . . . could she?
So began an investigation into one of the most bizarre cases Virginia and Texas law enforcement agencies had ever encountered: a twisted conspiracy of lies, rage, paranoia, manipulation, and savage murder that would ensnare an entire family—including two lethally close look-alike sisters—and reveal the shocking depravities possible when a dangerously disordered mind slips into madness.
My thoughts:
If you're a fan of true crime stories, this is one to read. Piper Jablin was a scorned woman who didn't get her way, so she resorted to cold blooded murder. She did a terrible job of trying to hide that it was her & she almost got her sister sent to prison. I was intrigued & couldn't put the book down!! Must read!!
BOOK REVIEW: I Became A Christian and all I got was this lousy t-shirt!
My thoughts:
I thought this book really opened up my eyes to what a Christian life should be. It's recommended for anyone who feels they are just going through the motions!

Country Music ~ Love is in the Air!!!
So much love. It was impossible to ignore in 2011, with 10 country artists saying "I do" everywhere from Las Vegas to Connecticut, Tennessee to Texas and Antigua to Puerto Rico. There were first marriages, second marriages, a same-sex marriage and even a few same-genre marriages. Most were small, intimate affairs, but one was a star-studded event, full of day-after stories and tweets and full media coverage.
The most-publicized wedding of the year took place May 14 when Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton tied the knot near San Antonio. The ceremony and reception took place at the 125-acre Don Strange Ranch. The couple exchanged vows on a cowhide rug under an arch made of antlers in a lantern-lit barn. She wore her mother's wedding dress and Casadei cowboy boots.
The groom was styled by Trish Townsend (who is also Carrie Underwood's stylist) and wore an Ermenegildo Zegna suit jacket and vest, a Sartori tie, Wrangler jeans and a pair of Lucchese boots that Neal McCoy gave him. Shelton's groomsmen wore Scully Western jackets, Joseph Abboud shirts, Wrangler jeans and Old Gringo boots they received from the groom himself.
McCoy was the official wedding singer, although I think everyone there took a turn at the microphone.
But Lambert and Shelton are just two of the country artists who are celebrating the holidays for the first time as husband and wife this year. And here they are, in chronological order:
Shania Twain/Frédéric Thiébaud: There were only 40 guests at the sunset ceremony when Twain married the businessman in Rincón, Puerto Rico, on Jan. 1. Thiébaud was attired in a black shirt and white suit. Twain wore a white dress with a black sash that she found in a small boutique in Lausanne, Switzerland, plus Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and Calvin Klein shoes. Her son Eja walked her down the aisle.
Kellie Pickler/Kyle Jacobs: The former American Idol finalist married songwriter Kyle Jacobs in Antigua on Jan. 1. Who was there when they eloped to the West Indies? Well, let's see. There was Pickler. Jacobs. The minister. And God. How's that for an intimate ceremony? It was exactly the kind of wedding the couple said they wanted. (Beverly Hills-based celeb wedding photographer Joe Buissink was there, too. But, still, it sounds very, very intimate.)
LeAnn Rimes/Eddie Cibrian: The singer and actor exchanged vows on April 22 in Malibu, Calif. She wore a Reem Acra gown, and he wore a Ermenegildo Zegna tuxedo-like outfit. The wedding took the 35 guests by surprise when they arrived at the private California estate with the understanding they were attending a more routine social event. Once there, they watched Rimes and Cibrian exchange vows.
Chely Wright/Lauren Blitzer: The singer-songwriter, best known for her No. 1 hit, "Single White Female," married the social activist on Aug. 20 in Connecticut. The brides wore long wedding gowns by J. Crew Bridal. The two women didn't wear veils because they reportedly like their hair too much. They were married by a rabbi and a reverend in front of 200 guests at Blitzer's aunt's private home. Connecticut is one of the first states to allow and recognize same-sex marriages.
Randy Houser/Jessa Lee Yantz: The singer-songwriters embarked on their most significant collaboration on Sept. 2 in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Only 20 family members and close friends were there, and the couple were married by their close friend Rob Hatch in a sunset ceremony. They wrote their own vows and sang an a cappella version of Lulu Belle & Scotty's country classic "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You" at the ceremony.
Sunny Sweeney/Jeff Hellmer: The Texas-born singer-songwriter married law enforcement officer Jeff Hellmer on Nov. 11 in Las Vegas. The couple and a small group of friends went to the Vegas institution -- A Little White Chapel -- to say their vows. But this was not an impulse decision fueled by a night of gambling and drinking. Sweeney had even talked quietly about their impending marriage a few days earlier when she was at the Big Machine Records party following the CMA Awards in Nashville. The couple reportedly wrote their own vows, with Hellmer crafting his from some well-known country lyrics.
Jessica Andrews/Marcel Chagnon: Andrews married singer-songwriter Marcel (who goes professionally by his first name only) on Nov. 11. The couple kept the wedding private, and not too many details were revealed. The two songwriters make their home in Nashville.
Jennifer Nettles/Justin Miller: The Sugarland vocalist married entrepreneur Justin Miller in Tennessee's Smoky Mountains on Nov. 26. She wore an Alexander McQueen gown for the sunset ceremony at a chapel in the mountain's foothills. (Miller is the one in bed in Sugarland's 2006 single "Want To.") The wedding was small, without a huge celebrity and/or media presence. But Nettle's Sugarland partner Kristian Bush was definitely there.

BOOK REVIEW: The Reader
Here's what www.amazon.com says:
Oprah Book Club® Selection, February 1999: Originally published in Switzerland, and gracefully translated into English by Carol Brown Janeway, The Reader is a brief tale about sex, love, reading, and shame in postwar Germany. Michael Berg is 15 when he begins a long, obsessive affair with Hanna, an enigmatic older woman. He never learns very much about her, and when she disappears one day, he expects never to see her again. But, to his horror, he does. Hanna is a defendant in a trial related to Germany's Nazi past, and it soon becomes clear that she is guilty of an unspeakable crime. As Michael follows the trial, he struggles with an overwhelming question: What should his generation do with its knowledge of the Holocaust? "We should not believe we can comprehend the incomprehensible, we may not compare the incomparable.... Should we only fall silent in revulsion, shame, and guilt? To what purpose?"
My thoughts:
A great movie that highlights parts of the whole Hitler era, showing that the people who were in charge were more than just cruel torturous monsters. Shows how shameful illiteracy was back then. Sad story, intriguing and great for those who enjoy history.
BOOK REVIEW: His Country Girl
MOVIE REVIEW: WWE Greatest Superstars of the 21st Century
MOVIE REVIEW: Breathing Room
Breathing Room 4/5
Here's what www.netflix.com says:
It's her worst nightmare come true when Tonya (Ailsa Marshall) finds herself stranded in an unfamiliar room with 13 prisoners, each held hostage by an electronic collar and left to agonize about what horrible fate may await. As it turns out, they're slated to die, and as the clock ticks down, the terrified strangers go toes up one by one. The catch, of course, is that one of them is the killer -- but who is it?
My thoughts:
Another good plot, kinda like Saw. Waking up in a room or in a tunnel stumbling your way into an open room. Finding out other people are here with no reason why. The plot was intersting, good ideas. Loved the ending!! Unpredictable!
MOVIE REVIEW: KNOCK KNOCK
Knock Knock ~ 4/5
Here's what www.netflix.com says:
When somebody starts picking off youngsters at Tyson High School -- in gruesome ways linked to their parents' vocations -- tosspot detective Mike Soto (Antonio Mastrantonio) and his pretty partner, Billie Vega (Kim Taggart), are on the case. The school's dim-witted, lecherous janitor (Sal Sirchia) soon becomes a suspect, but all is not what it seems this gory spine-chiller also starring Joli Julianna, Lou Savarese and wrestler Stephanie Finochio.
My thoughts:
Here's another good movie for horror buffs. Great death scenes, a plot that contained a good storyline. The grandpa was a little demanding and creepy, almost made me think he was the killer!!
MOVIE REVIEW: The Tooth Fairy
This tooth fairy was super creepy and a witch!! Who wouldn't run from that?? Lots of blood and gore, although predictable scenes. I definetly predicted that the naked man in bed would be killed and that the 1st death scene would be a man through the wood chipper. Good for horror fans tho!
MOVIE REVIEW: Smokin Aces
Smokin Aces ~ 3/5
Here's what www.netflix.com says:
Smokin' Aces(2006)
After a sleazy Las Vegas magician (Jeremy Piven) agrees to testify against the mob, he embarks on one last hurrah in Lake Tahoe before entering protective custody. But can just one FBI agent (Ryan Reynolds) keep him safe from a slew of would-be assassins? Andy Garcia, Ray Liotta, Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman and Alicia Keys co-star in this raucous cavalcade of con men, bad guys and bounty hunters.
My thoughts:
It was an okay movie. I couldn't get too much into it, was a little confused by the storyline. Seems like way too many people involved for an assassination. Worth watching once tho!
BOOK REVIEW: A Child Is Missing
This book is about famous pilot, his son is kidnapped as a baby and murdered. The killer was convicted and died in the electric chair. The wife of the man accused of the murder goes crazy. Fast Forward 20+ years, the pilot's other son is grown and has a wife and child. After his father's funeral, the son's baby is kidnapped by the son of his brother's killer. He hires a private detective to find his child before it's too late.
My thoughts:
Pretty good book, good storyline. I enjoyed it! Not too long or too deep, I finished this book in 2 days!
BOOK REVIEW: The Stranger Beside Me
From www.Amazon.com:
Not long ago, true crime writer Ann Rule recalls lying on an operating table. The anesthesiologist leaned over before putting her to sleep. "Ann," the anesthesiologist said softly, "tell me, what was Ted Bundy really like?" Despite meeting Florida's electric chair in 1989, the subject of Rule's bestselling book continues to haunt her. Rule and Bundy were friends. They met in 1971 at a Seattle crisis clinic, where they shared the late shift answering a suicide hotline. Their subsequent conversations, meetings, and letters spanned the rest of Bundy's life as he evolved into one of the century's most notorious serial killers. It's been 20 years since Rule first penned this chilling account. But the story--and her 2000 update--will still have readers reaching for their Xanax. No gratuitous gore here; just the basic, bone-chilling evidence. In fact, like a protective mother shielding us from horrors too awful to mention, Rule seems to avoid delving too deeply into crime scene descriptions. She devotes one paragraph in her new afterword to her discovery that Bundy engaged in necrophilia and returned to the scenes of his crimes to "line dead lips and eyes with garish makeup and to put blush on pale cheeks." She tells readers that John Hinckley, who shot Ronald Reagan, and David Berkowitz, the Son of Sam Killer, traded prison correspondences with Bundy. And she hints that Bundy's insatiable killer instincts may have started when he was a 14-year-old paperboy. (Ann Marie Burr, an 8-year-old girl on his route, mysteriously disappeared in the middle of the night and has never been found.) The skimpy update is over too soon, leaving readers wanting more and offering further proof of the public's never-ending fascination with serial killers. --Jodi Mailander Farrell --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.
My thoughts:
This book was extremely long. The actual original book starts off as a 400 pager! The edition I read was from the 1990 update. It adds an additional 100 pages. The book was sort of boring at times, reading all the legal mumbo jumbo, but the story itself was intriguing. I never realized so much about such an infamous serial killer. He was truly a split personality or something. I wouldn't read it again because it is so long & took me over 2 weeks to complete, however, anyone who is interested in learning about crime history should read this. Ted Bundy was a mastermind who really truly thought he did nothing wrong and thought he was going to walk away from it all and go on with his life. Very intriguing book!

My thoughts:
She's a bright girl, who uses her smarts for evil. The men are easily brought into the picture because as always men think with their head between the legs! The movie was pretty much a waste of time, no real plot to it. I didn't like it.
MOVIE REVIEW: Masters of Horror: John Carpenter: Cigarette Burns
Masters of Horror: John Carpenter: Cigarette Burns
Hired by a millionaire collector (Udo Kier) to retrieve the infamous Le Fin du Monde -- a violent movie that reportedly causes viewers to turn into homicidal maniacs after they watch it -- an unsuspecting theater owner (Norman Reedus) begins to fall under the film's spell. John Carpenter directs this unsettling installment of the "Masters of Horror" series, following one man's search for the holy grail of horror cinema.
My thoughts:
This movie was difficult to follow at first. There was a creature chained up and an old movie collector requesting an old film for $2oo,ooo. It was good offer for the guy, but everything seemed mashed together & nothing made sense until the end. Then the ending was surprising and brutal. It was worth watching once.

My thoughts:
It was typical 80's campy horror movie. People were killed at typical points: trying to get away, sneaking off to have sex, running off alone. It was predictable, but still had it's own story line. If you like 80's horror slasher movies, check this out. It's atleast a decent flick with a little comedy. Enjoy Jason Alexander when he was much younger and had alot more hair!!

My thoughts:
Good movie, it just has a repeat plot. Like so many other slasher films, they go out into the middle of nowhere. A small group, they run into many signs to turn back and ignore them. Then they run into a crazy, deformed family who wants their girls to breed & their men dead. Good story, just over played. Need new ideas. Slasher fans, it's worth a shot!!

BOOK REVIEW: Heiress Under Fire
Heiress Under Fire ~ 4/5
Here's what www.amazon.com says:
Though heiress Farren Gage exuded a sensuous femininity that made him ache, Elam Rhule didn't need another notch on his belt. He had to eliminate a target and prevent a terrorist attack. Besides, he couldn't fall for another delicate beauty. Farren was wrong for him. Completely wrong.
Farren hadn't traveled to Turkey
My thoughts:
Enjoyed the book, it had a good storyline, interesting characters & a suspense. The romance was interesting, intriguing & sweet. I really enjoyed it. I liked the twist of adding her father to the mix. What I didn't like was the terrorist character's habits/traits. Didn't seem to fit that of a terrorist to me, a little light or shall I say weak.

BOOK REVIEW: Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America
Here's what www.amazon.com says:
Acclaimed as an instant classic upon publication, Nickel and Dimed has sold more than 1.5 million copies and become a staple of classroom reading. Chosen for “one book” initiatives across the country, it has fueled nationwide campaigns for a living wage. Funny, poignant, and passionate, this revelatory firsthand account of life in low-wage America—the story of Barbara Ehrenreich’s attempts to eke out a living while working as a waitress, hotel maid,
Now, in a new afterword, Ehrenreich shows that the plight of the underpaid has in no way eased: with fewer
My thoughts:
The book was wonderful, it really showed what it takes for someone to actually get a job that pays something in America. Yes, the minimum wage has gone up, but so has EVERYTHING else! I hope this book opens the eyes of others who read it too.

MOVIE REVIEW: Masters of Horror: Don Coscarelli: Incident On and Off a Mountain Road
Here's what www.netflix.com says:
2005 NR 51 minutes
Chased through the night woods by the maniacal Moonface (John De Santis), Ellen (Bree Turner) defends herself by rigging a series of booby traps she learned from her cruel survivalist husband (Ethan Embry). But her tricks may not be enough to stave off the creepy predator. Writer-director Don Coscarelli, of Phantasm and Beastmaster fame, adapted this entry in the Showtime series from a short story by cult horror writer Joe R. Landsdale.
My thoughts:
It was an ok movie, typical thrasher, back woods movie. Until the twist at the end! Love these movies off of fear net!!

MOVIE REVIEW: Masters of Horror: John Landis: Family
Here's what www.netflix.com says:
Masters of Horror: John Landis: Family(2007)
Don't mind Harold Thompson (George Wendt), the mild-mannered
Our thoughts:
Good plot, the man who plays Harold aka Norm from Cheers, was spectacular! He played a real creep & his torture was something I looked forward to! His "family" creeped me out majorly! Overall, a pretty good flick & the ending was a nice twist! Reminds me of Tales from the Crypt, minus the Cryptkeeper.
MOVIE REVIEW: The Smurfs
Here's what www.netflix.com says:
The Smurfs(2011)
When wicked sorcerer Gargamel tries to capture them to use as talismans for his own evil magic, the peaceful blue Smurfs flee their woodland home, pass through a magic portal and find themselves stranded in
My thoughts:
My husband's first thought was that they were "going to ruin it." When I went into the theater today, I thought well, he COULD be right? But, I was willing to take my chances! My daughter's favorite singer is Katy Perry, so she was really looking forward to it! Everyone in our home is a big George Lopez fan, so Grouchy was a favorite for us! He killed it once again, I laughed my butt off over his lines. He puts actual character into his lines! Overall the movie was GREAT!! I laughed, a cried, I choked on my soda lol, it was great! Must see for EVERYONE!!!
